Yamaha neutral safety switch

A Yamaha neutral safety switch helps prevent the outboard from starting while the control is in gear. If the switch fails or is misadjusted, the engine may not crank, may show starting issues, or may not recognize neutral correctly.

Before replacing a Yamaha neutral safety switch, check the control box, shift linkage adjustment, wiring, connectors, battery condition, and related start-in-gear protection components. Match the switch by Yamaha control box or outboard model and part number.
